Givealong Terms of Use (Pilot)

DRAFT: requires review by a Canadian lawyer before use. Placeholders in [BRACKETS]. Written for about a Grade 8 reading level.

Last updated: [DATE]

Hi! These are the rules for using Givealong. Please read them. They're short.

1. Who we are

Givealong is run by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("Givealong", "we", "us"), [ADDRESS]. You can reach us at [SUPPORT EMAIL] or [WEBSITE].

Givealong is a free giving coach. We help you make a giving plan, remind you about it, and keep track of the gifts you give to charities.

This is a pilot. That means we're testing things. Features may change, and the pilot may end. We'll tell you before it ends.

2. Who can use Givealong

Joining is your choice. If you heard about us at work, your employer does not require you to join, and they can't see your answers.

3. You're chatting with an AI

Givealong's messages come from an AI assistant. It is a computer program, not a person. It can make mistakes. Please check anything important, like a charity's name or registration number, before you give.

The AI is not a financial, tax or legal advisor. For tax advice, talk to a tax professional or the Canada Revenue Agency.

Want a real person? Email [SUPPORT EMAIL].

4. We never hold your money

5. Sponsor gifts

Our founding sponsor, [SPONSOR LEGAL NAME] (Otto), pays for two thank-you gifts. Both go to charities, not to you:

We may stop your access if you break these rules.

8. Your info

Our [Privacy Policy]([WEBSITE]/privacy) explains what we collect and how we use it. Please read it.

9. No guarantees

We do our best, but Givealong is provided "as is". We can't promise it will always work, or that every charity is a good fit for you. To the extent the law allows, we're not responsible for:

[LAWYER: confirm the limitation-of-liability wording; Quebec and other consumer-protection laws may limit it.]

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If it's a big change, we'll text or email you first. If you keep using Givealong after a change, that means you accept it.

11. Ending

You can stop at any time by texting STOP and emailing [SUPPORT EMAIL] to ask us to delete your account. We can end the pilot or your access at any time.

12. Law

These terms follow the laws of [PROVINCE] and Canada.
